The Female Quotient
When founder and CEO Shelly Zalis gathered 50 gal pals together to walk the floor at the male-dominated Consumer Electronics Show, she had no idea a moment would turn into a movement. A short four years later, her innovative Girls’ Lounges at corporate conferences have reached thousands of women and become the largest community of corporate women and female entrepreneurs transforming workplace culture.
The success of Girls’ Lounges led to new ways to achieve gender equality. The events became part of The Female Quotient (FQ) which combines research, thought leadership, and mentorship into a more expansive mission. Shelly and her team needed to simply articulate who and what The Female Quotient is and dispel negative or confusing perceptions about the Girls’ Lounges. The Female Quotient needed to cut through the clutter, and make their true mission crystal clear.
That’s where we came in. Help promote gender equality in the workplace? Yes, please. Tell a story simply and creatively? Done. Madplum Creative redesigned the Female Quotient’s website to make its mission and offerings front and center. The Home Page has a straightforward and intuitive flow and the main site navigation echoes the most critical information we wanted to convey. Clean, modern, compelling images and videos break up text to create a visual narrative. Subtle details like photos that shift from black-and-white to color on rollover and elegant animations help guide the visitor through the site.
